MILD STEEL

mild steel rusts and scratches and can be dents

for the helmets We use 12 gauge cold roll mild steel for the tops and 14 gauge cold roll mild steel for the sides and back.
for the ARTICULATION We use 16 gauge cold roll mild steel
for the HILTS We use 1/4" in diameter hot roll mild steel for the cage style basket hilts and shield hilts.

 

ALL HELMET GRILLS

We use 1/4" in diameter COLD roll mild steel for ALL the bar grills.

Mild steel helmets get there grills either welded on directly or they use the lift latch system and are not physically attached. these grills are not painted!

 

STAINLESS STEEL

stainless steel DOES NOT rust but it does scratch and can be dented

for the ARTICULATION We use 18 gauge 304 Stainless steel

 

HELM RING

Q. Why does my helmet ring?
A. Your helm rings because it is hard without being brittle. If it makes a 'thud' kind of noise (without any padding) it is soft.  Soft helmets dent. Hard helmets protect your head from dents!
